Long –Term Care Facilities’ Services and Level of Care

 Services and levels of care provided at health care facilities such as nursing homes, assisted living, residential and adult family care homes are not the same and differ due to licensures.

 HPH Hospice’s long-term care manager, Karen Bowman, BSN, MPH, will present information on the differences between health care facilities and how licensures vary the services and levels of care offered at health care facilities.

 Bowman’s presentation will take place during the Comfort for Caregivers Support Group on Tuesday, August 16, 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.   The group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the HPH Hospice office at 6807 Rowan Road; New Port Richey from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.  There is no charge to attend the meetings.  Pre-registration is requested.  Please call the co-facilitators:  Annette Knowles, MSW or Nancy Buckheister, MSW at 727-848-7160.

 The Comfort for Caregivers Support Group provides information, education and emotional support in a safe, comforting and confidential environment.  HPH Hospice’s counselors are social workers and have received their training through the Alzheimer’s Association.
