tried out the new entrance paid entrance fee , what a waste the kayak launch is a hike away and nowhere to get closer by vehicle , the planners were having a senior moment when they did that , want to kayak go elsewhere ............................................

Hi Mandy, Werner-Boyce Salt Springs State Park just officially opened in January of this year. And additional improvements are in progress. Admittedly, the present kayak launch point is not very useable at the moment. However, funding is in place to build an additional parking lot and restroom facilities closer to the kayak launch, along with a short boardwalk to the launch point. For now, it is more convenient to launch your watercraft from Port Richey's Brasher Park - at the west end of Koons Drive.
