Wild Things and Sharks: This Weekend in New Port Richey

Shark Week! The Florida Aquarium, 701 Channelside Dr., Tampa, celebrates these undersea predators beginning Saturday, Aug. 3 and will feature a shark-themed scavenger hunt, additional shark feeding tours, appearances by the Florida Aquarium Mermaids and more. Visit flaquarium.org for more details.

Pet Expo of Pinellas: You and your pet can beat the heat at Humane Society of Pinellas County's indoor, air conditioned event at Minnreg Hall, 6340 126th Ave., Largo, beginning at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3. 'Where the Wild Things Are' WeekendThe Glazer Children's Museum, 110 W. Gasparilla Plaza, Tampa, brings Maurice Sendak's classic children's book to life Aug. 3-4. Kids are invited to "put on your wolf suit and get ready to cause some BIG mischief!" Find more info at glazermuseum.org.

'Octonauts: To Your Stations': Captain Barnacles and Kwazii from the hit children's TV show "Octonauts" will perform two shows at Westfield Citrus Park mall, 8021 Citrus Park Town Center, Tampa, at 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 2. Get on the Water Safely: Want to learn how to get out on the water in a boat of your own? The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 11-6 in New Port Richey is having a boating safety class this Saturday at 9 a.m. You can learn about everything that you need to know to get your boater safety ID card.
