If your going to rant your liberal BS at least get your facts straight! The general was a trueRead More American....something you obviously know nothing about! Even if he was the general that led the invasion of Iraq he would have been following orders.

I think you have your wars mixed up. You are displaying your ignorance to the public.
David garcia February 28, 2013 at 03:49 pm
Liberalist views are undoubtedly from individuals whom have never served either in the armed forcesRead More or in a public service manner (police, fire etc).

Thank you Teresa. My point exactly. If we accept the premise that everybody has to purchase theirRead More own health care, via insurance or self-pay, then the flip side is that none of us should be asked to kick in for those who don't want to pay for their insurance. If Mr. Clemens doesn't want to pay for insurance, that is fine. I wouldn't suggest that he has to buy it. Just don't ask for me to pay for his care when he eventually gets sick. There IS an alternative and it has been adopted by virtually every other industrialized country in the world: They have national health insurance and that controls costs... unlike our system where costs are out of control. They spend less and they have better health outcomes than we do. Simply put, they are getting more for their money. If folks don't want national health insurance and they don't want an individual mandate to require folks to purchase their own insurance, the alternative is to accept that some folks are going to die for lack of insurance. It's not right to bury the cost of their care in the premiums that responsible people pay when they buy insurance. (BTW, I'm one of the folks who have been denied individual health insurance by the sleazy insurance companies). Interestingly enough, Mr. Romney designed a program with an individual mandate and that program was the model for Obamacare. Now he can't run fast enough to get away from the child of his own creation.

Florida Blue charges me even more. My rates when up 35% a year the two years before ObamacareRead More passed. It went up 15% the next year and was almost flat this year, even before Florida Blue had to send me an Obamacare mandated refund for overcharging me. For my money, Obamacare is working.

An excellent article on one of the finest people it has been my privilege to know. I knew him inRead More school '84-86 and for several years following. He made Total Sound a family that endures still. We've all grown up and moved away, started lives, families and careers, but we've not forgotten how he touched our lives. Fair winds and following seas, Mr. Perdue.

Eric would love to share his life, experiences and imagination through his writings of both poetryRead More and published books and we loved to listen. He was a regular in our Poetry and Author's Nights, as well a judge in our annual poetry contest. Eric was serious about making a positive contribution in everything he did, but underneath that seriousness he had a great sense of humor and warm smile! He will be truly missed here, but his stories will go on! Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Barbara and family.

Kathy, Thank you for your comment. I do want to point out that the city council recently approvedRead More raising the rec center's membership fees, but this article discusses the fees for the summer camp only. The 2012 fees are identical to 2011's, despite an early effort to raise them. I don't know of any summer camp that costs a mere $40 per resident child per week. With 10 hours a day of child care available it is truly a bargain that can't be beat Thanks again for taking the time to leave a note. Greg

I would love to send my child to the rec center this summer but being a non-resident of NPR and aRead More single mother it is way too expensive for me. Are there any programs for children of lower income/reduced lunch?

West Pasco has lost a very valuable member of the community, a kind and generous man. I am honoredRead More and grateful that I had the opportunity to get to know David through the West Pasco Historical Society. He has touched many lives and will be greatly missed.

Midge and I got to know David shortly after our move to New Port Richey in 1994. In fact I succeededRead More David as president of the West Pasco Historical Society and had to count on his wisdom in conducting society affairs. David was very innovative and created the "Windows of History" displays which featured the MacKay Shoe Shop, the Zane Rankin Grocery, and the Pioneer Parlor. We could always count on David for all kinds of support.

I met David through the Historical Society were we served on committees together. David was veryRead More dedicated in doing only an excellent job at whaevert he did and was a very caring and generous man. The flowers that decorated all the tables at our fashion shows were just one example of his talents and generosity. He will certainly be missed by many.

My name is Gerald R. Sprankel Jr. I'm the son of Dr. Gerald R. Sprankel who opened an ob clinic inRead More New port Richey in 1951. Julie was my dad's ob nurse for years at his clinic. I was very young during that time (3rd thru the 7th grade) and just barely remember Ms. Obenreder but I would like to offer my condolences to her family. Especially her daughter and son. I just came across the information about her passing by accident on the web. Gerald Sprankel Sprankel Graphic Design 435 S. Ridgewood Ave. Daytona Beach, FL 386.253.9983
