If you believe you can stop gun violence by taking guns away from honest citizens, You are a specialRead More kind of stupid.

The Patch story is merely a redundant portrayal of what we all know are people shooting people allRead More over the U.S.

Comparing this stuff to medical marijuana is like comparing rape to making love.

The "game" is barbaric and uncivilized.
Sandra Dornick December 6, 2013 at 07:20 am
Game? Why is this called a game? It is criminal offense, let's call it what it really is.

Trees are in homes by Gulf Middle. The tornado shook my house and you could hear debris hitting. TheRead More roar and power was unreal as it came over. Across from me the apts still have roof damage unfixed. My neighbor saw the tornado and was stuck outside and ran into a dumpster fence enclosure. She stated debris was twirling and rushing in circles and snapping noises everywhere. Most of my fence is gone, and the debris made a mess of the area.

What, no comments here? I wonder why that is. Poor BofA I bet this guy tool them for a few grand. IRead More bet they were so traumatised too. I am sure there is no one thinking that maybe this is not such a bad thing. How many local homes have they foreclosed on? How much trauma that resulted? BofA got bailed out. Plenty of people were told they could refinance and stay in their home but were later told paperwork was lost or just didn't get there or more was needed etc and in the end were denied for refi. Karma has a way of coming back. Sometimes in drips, others in floods.

So sad that people who posted here have absolutely NO compassion. Does it make you feel better toRead More put others down? This family, like so many in this country, could use counciling and support, not be derided and humiliated further. The posters might benefit from bullying counciling as well.

Or boxing lessons, if you live any where near those two sisters.

Rest in peace, Jason Gay. May God watch over your family and loved ones and help them thru thisRead More difficult time. You were too young to go so soon, but God had a better plan for you. In prayer ...

Charge fees and tax everything you can.. This city is sinking and need major help. Even tax thsRead More prostitues on us 19. Open more strip clubs and tax them to death .. Go new port wrinkle.
Bob Langford October 4, 2013 at 12:36 am
I agree with Derek, it is tax fairness. His explanation of the fire fee was spot on. I don't haveRead More an idea how Councilman Phillips was the only one on the Dias that understood the implications of looking into this fee. If the city should adopt this, why is is so hard for anyone to see that the fee is a bad idea? This would REDUCE the ad valorem tax to ALL tax payers that now pay taxes. This is an ideal way to start controlling the general fund of the budget which is nearly maxed out and keep the fire department at the level we all wish to maintain. Did it just come up too late in the meeting and everyone else couldn't get it because of being too tired or something? The presentation was outstanding and the fee quotation, I thought, was very reasonable. I believe it should be brought back so it can move forward by the end of the year as required by statute. The folks complaining about this fee either don't get it or may be some of the freeloaders that continue to use the services the most without paying a dime. How unfair to us taxpayers! It will ONLY make next years budget hard, once again needlessly, to balance.

Bob, Both of us can appreciate how Bill felt after finding himself on the losing end of a 4-1 vote.Read More We do have a lot of property in the city that is exempt from paying property taxes and it makes no sense to have some of the biggest buildings in the entire city completely exempt from paying for fire protection.

Very sad to hear this .. my sincere condolences to his family and friends. Haven't there beenRead More a FEW recent unexplained deaths in the gulf in the New Port Richey / Anclote Key areas over the last couple years or so? Where a boater was found dead in his boat and no signs of foul play? I "wonder" if there is a connection?

Just remember, Herpes and Venereal Warts live on US 19 and Alt 19, IN THESE CHICKS PANTS AND ONRead More THEIR TONGUES, so take that home to Momma, or better yet DON'T.
PATRICIA FALKMAN October 11, 2013 at 12:54 pm
They aren't hurting anyone Mary? Obviously you don't own a home near any of these places. I amRead More thinking you probably done even walk down 19. Or ride a bicycle. I guess if you are lucky, you are in your oh so perfect little neighborhood and don't have to deal with the reality of the situation. Why not start a committee of cleaning up the community from a level you might understand....trash pick up. Learn how it is to the rest of us by looking at just the litter. Put your mouth and ideas out there for people to try and get a grasp of reality. Do not attack those who are actually trying to think of things that would help.

This story highlights the need to stamp out the prostitutes walking US 19 at all hours of the day.Read More Their presence is a magnet for the scum of the earth and all kinds of criminal activity. So now we have scam artists attracted to the area to prey on the johns. They happened to cross paths with a psychopath cruising US19 for a prostitute to dominate. And now New Port Richey is in the news again for all of the wrong reasons. I can only tolerate incidents like this occurring in the immediate vicinity of my neighborhood before I decide to pack up my family and get them to a safer place.
Greg Smithwick September 13, 2013 at 05:41 pm
Wow..."Stamp out prostitutes". Maybe we should be more worried about the guy WHO SHOTRead More SOMEONE over sixty dollars?
