Woman Arrested After Wandering 54 with Child

Vanessa Lynn Statham, 25, was arrested and charged with child neglect and possession of paraphernalia.

Authorities have arrested an Elfers woman who was reportedly found wandering State Road 54 Monday morning without footwear, followed by a 4-year-old child, who was also without footwear. According to a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, the woman was under the influence of synthetic marijuana, or “Spice,” and was unable to take care of herself, let alone a child. The arrest report says drug paraphernalia and prescription medication was found witin a child’s reach at a home. A glass bong with a residue that tested positive for marijuana was found in her home. Vanessa Lynn Statham, 25, of the 4900 block of Venus Ave., was arrested Monday and charged wih child neglect and possession of paraphernalia. She remained in custody Tuesday …

Caught on Video: Man Arrested for Engaging in Sexual Acts with Teen

The Holiday man was arrested after a deputy found video evidence of the crime.

A 68-year-old Holiday man stands accused of engaging in sexual activity with a 15-year-old boy. A woman told a Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy she found a video on a computer of the 68-year-old engaging in sexual activity with the boy, according to an arrest report. The man denied the allegation but gave the deputy consent to search his computer for the video. The deputy found a video showing the man with his genitals exposed. it showed the man performing sex acts on the 15-year-old. The encounter reportedly happened on Jan. 12.   Dennis Machmer of the 1800 block of Kepner Drive was arrested Monday and charged with lewd or lascivious battery. He remained in the Land O' Lakes jail without bail Tuesday. 

2 Schools on Lockdown After Nearby Armed Robbery

The sheriff's office is looking for help locating the suspect who struck a store in Mitchell Plaza this morning.

Pasco County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a man they say robbed the Mitchell Plaza Payless store around 10 this morning. According to a media release, the suspect entered the 3034 Little Road store and gave the clerk a note. He fled the store westbound on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. The sheriff's office was notified just after 10 a.m. and is now searching for the suspect. The man is said to be armed with a gun. The suspect is described as a black male between 30 and 35 years old. He is about 5 feet, 7 inches tall and was last seen wearing a white shirt, black pants and black hat. New Arrest in Holiday Home Invasion

A man was beaten with a crowbar during the robbery.

Another arrest has been made in connection to a July home invasion robbery in Holiday in which the victim was beaten with a crowbar. Dustin Keith Grooms of 12930 Kellywood Circle in Hudson was arrested by Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies on Friday in the Bayonet Point/Port Richey area and charged with home invasion robbery. Another suspect, David Hodierne, was arrested April 26. According to a sheriff's office report, two masked suspects broke into a home on the 4500 block of Flora Avenue in Holiday at 1:40 a.m. July 10, 2011. They got in through a window on the back door and entered a bedroom where a man was sleeping.   The man woke up, and his hands were bound behind his back with tape. Deputy Charged with Voyeurism Placed on Unpaid Leave

He is accused of taking pictures of a sleeping naked woman and mailing them to her ex-husband and daughter.

The Land O' Lakes jail detention deputy arrested May 15 for taking photos of a naked woman and sending them to the woman's ex-huband and daughter has been placed on unpaid leave. According to a letter dated May 17 from the Pasco County Sheriff's Office, Brian Dale Pratt, 51, of Hudson, is under investigation for conduct unbecoming a member of the sheriff's office.  According to an arrest report, Pratt took pictures of a completely nude woman unconscious in a bed in her New Port Richey home. The images were taken with a cell phone camera and mailed out to her ex-husband and daughter, according to the report. Deputy Took, Circulated Pictures of Naked Woman

Brian Pratt sent out photos of an unconscious woman that he shot with a cell phone camera.

A Pasco County detention deputy was arrested and placed on paid administrative leave after he took pictures of a naked woman and sent them to others, according to Pasco County Sheriff’s deputies. According to an arrest report, Brian Dale Pratt took pictures of a completely nude woman unconscious in a bed in her New Port Richey home Feb. 13. The images were taken with a cell phone camera and mailed out to her ex-husband and daughter, according to the report. The victim told a detective that the pictures were taken without permission while she was passed out from drinking too much at a party. Man Spit Blood at Deputy, Nurse After Burglary Arrest

He fell while fleeing from Pasco deputies Sunday night.

A Holiday man faces multiple charges after initiating a foot chase with Pasco deputies late Sunday that ended with him spitting blood at an officer and a hospital nurse.  According to an incident report, deputies were watching the home of a burglary suspect on Sunday, when the man exited his home and refused a deputy's order to stop moving. Christopher Farrell, 33, began to run, leading two deputies on a foot chase east of his home at 3716 Beechwood Drive. Eventually Farrell "tripped and fell to the ground and still tried to get up and run away," the report stated. Farrell continued to resist a deputy's attempts to subdue and handcuff him, pulling his arms under his stomach while lying face down on the ground, according to the report. It …

Deputies Intercept Pill Trafficking Plot

Two people were found with $70,000 in prescription pills.

After pulling over a car in Land O’ Lakes Sunday and arresting its occupants, a Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy looked in the rear and found a cache of about $70,000 worth of prescription pills. Ramon Aguilar-Hernandez, the driver, and Damiana Alvarado, his passenger, were already under investigation when they were pulled over at the corner of Stonegate Falls Drive and State Road 54. Law enforcement officers believed they were coming back from South Florida with a stash of prescription pills, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. Once Aguilar-Hernandez and Alvarado were in custody, a search of the car, a 2007 four-door Honda, revealed 3,280 Oxycodone pills and 1,413 Alprazolam pills in back. 18-Year-Old Accused in Starkey Park Shooting

Marcus Yulvaughne Wilson was arrested Sunday on a charge of second degree murder.

A Pinellas County 18-year-old has been charged with second degree murder in connection to a fatal shooting in a New Port Richey area park. Marcus Yulvaughne Wilson was drinking with Christopher Ashton Martin, an acquaintance, at a camp site in Starkey Park over the weekend, according to a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office arrest report. He passed out on a picnic table and woke up Sunday around 1 a.m., and discovered Martin was performing a sex act on him, according to the arrest report. Wilson told a detective he lost his temper and kicked Martin, whose 30th birthday was Sunday, in the back, knocking him to the ground. Update: Body Found in Burning Car Classified a Homicide

The car was found in the Moon Lake area.

Update Monday (2:51 p.m.): Pasco Sheriff's deputies are now investigating the death as a possible homicide. The decased is a male, said Pasco County Sheriff Chris Nocco. Details of his identity have not been released. Earlier: Sunday (8:15 a.m.): A body was found inside a burning car early Sunday morning in the Moon Lake area, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office.    Pasco County Fire Rescue responded to a fire in the area of Joyner Avenue and Helena Street at about 1:44 a.m. Sunday morning, according to a Sheriff's Office media release. They found the burning car with a body inside, according to the release.   The case is under investigation. Further information was not available Sunday morning. Stick with Patch for details.
