Black Friday, Small Business Saturday and Cyber Monday rule the shopping roost after Thanksgiving.
If you have a black belt in Black Friday shopping, listen up: area big-box retailers are gearing up to dazzle bargain hunters even earlier this year—starting on Thanksgiving Day! Last week, Walmart announced that it would open its doors at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22 and offer holiday doorbusters while supplies last. These include deals on TVs, iPads, an electric scooter for $79 and a steam mop for $39. Not to be outdone, Target and Best Buy are also planning all-out holiday shopping assaults. Target's deals begin at 9 p.m. According to an ad leaked online, the best deals will be for TVs, a Nook, a Nikon camera and an XBOX 360 Kinect bundle. At Best Buy, doors open at midnight. The stores will open earlier this year for Black Friday shoppers.
Target will be pulling an all-nighter come Black Friday Eve. The store announced this week that they will open at 9 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 22 with select Black Friday savings. The store will begin offering additional Doorbuster sales at 4 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 23. In Westchase, that means you can head over to Target at 900 Little Rd, Trinity, right after you finish off that Thanksgiving dessert. Most of the group's members present at Gulfview Square got only a little through a speech decrying corporations before interruption on Black Friday and then moved on
Some Occupy New Port Richey members didn’t get their entire message out after they started a flash mob in the crowded food court of Gulf View Square Mall in Port Richey on Black Friday. They were interrupted by security and law enforcement shortly after they began decrying consumerism and corporate influence on politics. Some members who were the last to interact with security did get through the whole performance, according to an Occupy member who posted a video on Youtube.
