Estela's Opens on Main Street

The eatery brings Mexican flavor to the historic district.

Hungering for some Mexican food? There’s a new restaurant on New Port Richey’s Main Street that will sate your appetite. The New Port Richey branch of Estela’s Mexican Restaurant and cantina has relocated from 7041 U.S. 19 in New Port Richey to 5706 Main St. It opened its doors Wednesday, Dec. 26, and it is now serving a full menu of Mexican favorites. Estela’s is a Tampa-based chain of Mexican restaurants. The U.S. 19 location opened five years ago. Owner Shawn Garvey took the reins of the restaurant a year and a half ago. He runs it with wife Alisha and adult daughter Mia. “I want it to be a destination for people,” said Shawn Garvey. Garvey says Estela’s rented the U.S. 19 location. The building was sold recently. Was there yesterday for lunch....loved it! Had only been there once before on 19. Glad to have them downtown as I will be back for more. Not sure if it's good or bad that they are just across the street from the back door of my salon...LOL   more ›
