Charges Pile Up on Serial Electronics Theft Suspect

He’s been connected to a string of thefts in West Pasco, Pinellas and Hernando counties.

A New Port Richey man already behind bars in connection with a slew of electronics thefts now faces new charges out of Pinellas County. Joseph Paul Savarese, 26, of 7112 Jenner Ave. was first arrested June 12 in connection with a theft and on a Pasco County warrant for failure to appear in court. He was also connected to a string of retail grand thefts that took place all over West Pasco and Hernando counties in the early summer. During those thefts, Savarese is accused of taking thousands of dollars in merchandise from stores like Target, Best Buy and Macy’s. Man Pays for Cab Rides in Doughnuts, Gets Arrested

Deputies say a Dunkin’ Donuts employee stole more than $300 in goods.

He traded doughnuts and bagels for rides home. Gave customers free food and brought bags of sandwiches, cheese and other goods home. While customers might have appreciated the gesture, the New Port Richey man’s employers at Dunkin’ Donuts, 5421 Little Road, did not. The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office says the suspect was arrested yesterday, July 27, on charges of grand theft after surveillance video captured him taking an estimated $316 in goods from the restaurant. According to an incident report, the suspect began taking goods about two weeks ago. The surveillance video only covered about a three-day period. The store’s district manager told deputies that the suspect was taking goods for personal use, paying for cab rides home in bagels …
