Boy Sprays Fire at Gulf Middle Student

The victim escaped injury.

An 11-year-old boy was arrested Friday after spraying fire at a Gulf Middle School student in a school bathroom, according to New Port Richey Police. The boy took a can Old Spice body spray and lit the spray stream on fire with a lighter, according to an arrest report. He aimed it at a student bathroom stall at Gulf Middle. The victim’s pants caught fire briefly. The boy was not injured, but hairs on his arm were singed, the report said. The report describes the victim as a fellow student of the attacker. The attacking boy was charged with aggravated battery. Patch is not reporting the childrens’ names due to their ages.
