The Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority is getting ready to host a series of town hall-style meetings over the phone.
Want to have your say on the future of transportation in the West Pasco area and the entire Tampa Bay region? All you’ve got to do is pick up the phone and make a call on April 3. That’s when the Tampa Bay Area Regional Transportation Authority, or TBARTA for short, plans to host a town hall-style telephone meeting with Pasco County residents. The meetings are meant to provide residents throughout the region with an opportunity to talk about such things as the future of transportation, the Regional Transportation Master Plan and priority projects coming up, according to a media release from the agency. TBARTA was formed by the state Legislature in 2007 to create and implement a master transportation plan for the seven counties it serves. …

The Florida Highway Patrol said the new law, which requires international drivers to obtain a $25 permit to drive in Florida, could violate the Geneva Convention.
Some local law enforcement agencies, including the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles announced they are not going to enforce a new state law requiring international drivers to obtain a $25 driving permit to drive in Florida. The new law was supposed to go into effect on Jan. 1, but authorities fear the new law violates the Geneva Convention on road traffic. The accident took place on Grand Boulevard, near the intersection with Sunray Drive.
A 20-year-old Holiday man is dead and another man is injured following an evening crash on Grand Boulevard. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Angus Stubbs, 25, of Hazel Green, Ala., was driving south on Grand Boulevard in a 1997 Ford F250 as Bill J. Castro Segura of Holiday was traveling north on Grand, near the intersection with Sunray Drive in Holiday. Stubbs’ vehicle began to “swerve towards the west shoulder for unknown reasons,” a highway patrol media release said. At that point, Stubbs over-corrected back into the roadway, causing his truck to travel over the painted median and into oncoming traffic. Stubbs’ truck went into the path of Segura’s 1995 Honda Odyssey . The two vehicles collided, “nearly head-on,” the release said…

There is a desperate need for public transportation on State road 52, also in the Moon Lake Rd area. They have Volunteer Way who does a wonderful job and feeds the homeless,they also provide a discount thrift store open to the public.Perhaps if these people had transportation many could find employment. The nearest bus stop is the Community College on Ridge Rd.   more ›
