OMG PD: Cuba Kidnap, Guns at U.S. Capitol, Stolen Pinwheels

A Clearwater man was arrested after authorities said he brought unregistered guns and ammunition onto the grounds of the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, DC, on Sunday, according to a report from The Associated Press. Ty Carroll Mitchum, 29, was  arrested by U.S. Capitol Police after they found him outside the building Sunday afternoon and searched his car. Manatee County authorities, working with the state, are seeking a former pharmacy store owner wanted since May 2012 in connection to a drug trafficking operation. Investigators accuse Ajay Patel of filling prescriptions for Oxycodone for a drug trafficking operation. Patel operated pharmacies on Longboat Key, Parrish and Bradenton. Man Accused of DUI, Kicking Pasco Deputy

Jason Sutton tried walking away from an arrest and then kicked a deputy in the face, according to authorities.

A man was arrested over the weekend and accused of DUI and kicking a Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy in the face.  Jason Sutton was allegedly driving his vehicle while intoxicated before dawn Saturday, according to an arrest report by a Pasco County Sheriff’s deputy. Deputies conducted a traffic stop on Sutton at the intersection of Orange and Bonita Drives in Holiday. Sutton, 33, refused breath, blood or urine tests to check his blood alcohol content. He then began to walk away and bowed his shoulders back and assumed a fighting posture, according to the report. He was then arrested. Pinellas County Sheriff's detectives say a man robbed a Dunedin convenience store three times within the past month, including a Feb. 7 smash-and-grab burglary in which he allegedly took 100 scratch-off lottery tickets. A fingerprint lifted from a stolen lottery ticket helped link Palm Harbor's Trevor David Winsett, 24, to the robberies at Munchee's.  Detectives say Winsett gave the lottery tickets to his brother to repay a debt. Winsett's brother went with his girlfriend to cash the winning tickets a few hours later at a Palm Harbor 7-Eleven, authorities said. A man in a wheelchair just trying to shop at a Sarasota Walgreens overnight Tuesday was punched and robbed outside the store by a couple who are now being sought by the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office. A man and a woman approached the 45-year-old victim as he came out of store just after midnight Tuesday and attempted to buy his prescriptions, but he had only purchased over-the-counter allergy medicine, according to the sheriff's office. When  the victim attempted to get into his car, the male suspect tried to grab the man’s satchel from around his neck, authorities said. A getaway vehicle wasn’t necessary for one Tampa thief. According to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, the man swiped a ride from the University Bicycle Center, 1220 Fletcher Ave. E., Temple Terrace, around 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 13. Deputies say the suspect walked into the store, took a seat off a Giant Revel Aluxx 6000 series bicycle, walked past the last point of sale and rode the bike away in a northwest direction. They’re now looking for that man on a grand theft charge.   Officials are searching for an inmate who escaped from the Tarpon Springs Work Release Center last Friday. A Holiday man was arrested after Pasco County deputies said he struck his girlfriend's son with a vacuum cleaner. The victim had injuries "consistent with being hit with an upright vacuum cleaner," according to a deputy's report. Skye Edward Compfort, 40, said he couldn't remember the beating. He was taken to a local hospital for medical clearance on suspicion of Xanax intoxication, then transferred to the Land O 'Lakes jail. Compfort was charged Jan. 14 with simple battery, possession of drugs without a prescription and introduction/possession of contraband in a detention facility. OMG PD: Stolen Mail, Stolen Beer, Lots of Guns

On Christmas Eve, the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office says that a man broke in to the same Walgreens twice in less than two hours. On the first trip, he made off with beer and cigarettes. Later, he broke into the pharmacy and tried to steal pain medication, according to a press release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office. According to the release, on Dece. 24, at 1:29 a.m., a man between 30 and 40 years of age smashed the door of Walgreens, 3890 Van Dyke Road in Lutz. Once inside, he took one case of Budweiser beer and two cases of Bud Light beer, they say. OMG PD: Polite Robber Knocks First, 93-Year-Old Hits Deputy, Fire Captain Arrested – Again

A homeowner made the mistake of answering her door last week without knowing first who had just knocked. According to the Bradenton Patch, Teresa K. Lindsey, of the 4300 block of Fairfax Drive, heard the knock at her door shortly after 9 p.m. She looked out and when she didn't see anyone so she opened the door. A suspect stepped into her view and forced his way into the residence. The man, described as between 5-feet-six-inches to 5-feet-8-inches tall and 150 to 165 pounds, demanded money and other items. Lindsey gave him what she had and the man forced her into her bedroom closet before running away.
