Bogart is 'Done'

Kim Bogart's campaign has come to an end and the Democrat says he won't seek the Pasco County Sheriff's seat again.

Pasco County Sheriff candidate  Kim Bogart was hosting a watch party in the kitchen of his New Port Richey area home Tuesday night when it became clear voting wasn't going in his favor. Bogart’s most recent bid to become Pasco County’s top cop came to an end even before it was reported that votes from all precincts in Pasco had been tallied. Bogart, 60, is a former captain and major with the Pasco sheriff’s office.  He hoped to oust incumbent Sheriff Chris Nocco. He ran his campaign this election season under the slogan "Public Safety, Not Politics." But early voting and absentee results alone, projected on a TV in Bogart’s home, showed Nocco was gaining the upper hand on Election Night by a large margin. Then precinct numbers started …

Nocco Enters the Race for Pasco Sheriff

The candidate field now stands at five.

The question that’s been on the minds of those who follow Pasco County politics has officially been answered. Sheriff Chris Nocco has thrown his name into the ring for the November election. Nocco, a Republican, filed his paperwork with the Pasco County Supervisor of Election’s Office today, Jan.  3. He faces a field of opponents that includes two other Republicans–Roger Joseph Fortney and Mike “XX” Fox–and two Democrats–Kim Bogart and Larry Roberts, according to the election office’s website. "Pasco County is facing the same issues as a large metropolitan county," Nocco said in a media release about his candidacy.
