The Progress Energy Art Gallery is seeking your best poems.
Are you the prince of prose or simply have a way with words? If so, you might want to enter the Progress Energy Art Gallery's sixth annual poetry contest. To celebrate April as National Poetry Month, the art gallery is seeking your best poetry. According to an event listing on New Port Richey Patch, the deadline to enter is April 12. Local organic growers are invited to sell their produce each Tuesday at the New Port Richey Public Library.
Residents are invited to drop by the New Port Richey Public Library each Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to purchase fresh organic produce from a variety of organic growers. According to an event listing posted on New Port Richey Patch by the library, the event is a fundraiser for the Friends of the New Port Richey Library. There will be a community paint-up and fix-up day Saturday, Feb. 23.
New Port Richey city officials are gearing up to repair and paint the Hacienda Hotel on Saturday, Feb. 23 as a follow-up to their successful Community Clean-Up Day. More than 350 volunteers showed up on Saturday, Jan. 12, for the City of New Port Richey’s Hacienda Hotel First Community Clean-Up Day, according to a report posted on New Port Richey Patch by Marilyn Mercado, executive assistant to the New Port Richey city manager. Now, the city is asking for the support of the community once again on Feb. 23. In addition to residents, people with experience in the skilled trades will be needed. Volunteers will tackle painting exterior trim, painting exterior railings, window pane replacement, irrigation system installation and laying sod. …
Entries must be postmarked by April 3.
In honor of National Poetry Month in April, the Pasco Arts Council is inviting all poets to enter the seventh annual Jacaranda Poetry Festival Saturday, April 20 at the council's art center, 5744 Moog Rd., Holiday. The Progress Energy Art Gallery is featuring three exhibits.

The Progress Energy Art Gallery is hosting a trio of exhibits in February featuring Florida Landscape Artists, artwork of students from Deer Park, Moon Lake and T.
