Woman Accused of Hitting Puppy With Broom

She now faces a number of charges, including animal cruelty.

A Seven Springs area woman was arrested after she chased a neighbor who saw her hit a puppy on the head with a broom, according to the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office. Jennifer Bijaczyk heard a dog yelping on Sunday night and a woman yelling at it, according to a Pasco County Sheriff’s Office report. The noise appeared to be coming from the nearby house at 7601 Como Drive. She saw Jacqueline Jeffries holding a plastic broom on the Como Drive house’s back porch. Bijaczyk saw Jacqueline Jeffries hit the puppy, a 4-month-old Dachshund, in the head repeatedly with the bristled end of the broom, according to the report. Bijaczyk told a deputy she jumped the fence and confronted her neighbor. The puppy was lying in a pool of blood and was bleeding…
