Named for one of Pasco's pioneers, Fillman Bayou is a name with great historical significance.
All along Pasco County's west coast are inlets, bayous, coves, and creeks that bear unique names—some of which have significant meaning to our local history. One such name with great historical significance is that of Fillman Bayou located west of Old Dixie Highway, near Aripeka. Named for one of west Pasco’s pioneers — Martin D. Common sense needs to be exercised here. The larger the vessel, for the most part-the deeper ther draft. Sunwest as I understand it will be for primary private and recreational boating. A 45ft wide x 6ft at mean low tide channel would be sufficient for this purpose. The USACE's primary concern for dredging is to deal with ports and commerce.
