Fresh Friday Farmer's Market Continues

The downtown farmer's market offers plants, produce, jellies, jams, baked goods and crafts.

Here's a reason to visit downtown New Port Richey on Friday. The Fresh Friday Farmer's Market  and Artevent, produced by Greater New Port Richey Main Street, continues this week on Friday, Feb. 8. The weekly farmers market event is located in Railroad Square in New Port Richey, one block east of Grand Blvd on Nebraska Avenue, and Cavalaire Square, one block East of Grand Blvd between Nebraska & Missouri Avenues. The market features several vendors. Products offered include plants, produce, jellies, jams, baked goods and crafts. Want to check out the market? The Fresh Friday Farmers Market goes from 5 p.m.–9 p.m this Friday, Feb. 8,  and each Friday through April 26.

See Chicken Run for Free Friday

The stop-motion film starts at sundown Friday.

The New Port Richey Cultural Affairs Committee’s free movie event in downtown New Port Richey is featuring family friendly film Chicken Run on Friday. The movie is part of the committee's Spring/Fall Free For All movie series. The series features movie showings at the band shell in Sims Park in New Port Richey. The series features family friendly movies and other amusements for the kids. Chicken Run is an award-winning stop motion film. Mel Gibson voices the main character.  The 2000 movie tells the tale of a band of chickens and its efforts to escape a chicken farm. Get Ready for Pasco EcoFest

Our schedule of EcoFest activities will help you get the most out of the three-day event Nov. 9-11.

It’s almost time to go wild in West Pasco. Pasco EcoFest is three-day festival that puts a spotlight on West Pasco parks and what you can do in and around them. And it starts Friday, Nov. 9. and continues through Sunday, Nov. 11. The festival features more than 50 activities spread out across West Pasco parks and sites in New Port Richey. Almost all activities are free. The slate of activities includes kayaking, hiking, riverboat rides, drum circles, dancing on the beach, the first-ever food truck rally in New Port Richey, an eco market, educational workshops and talks, a pet adoption fair and geo-caching challenges. Free Yoga Happy Hour Returns Downtown

The event supports the restoration of Cavalaire Square.

The New Port Richey Cultural Affairs Committee is hosting a free guided yoga Happy Hour Tuesday, Sept. 25, in Cavalaire Square in downtown New Port Richey. The yoga starts at 7 p.m. and is free to participate in, but donations are accepted. The donated money supports efforts to restore Cavalaire Square, a  space tucked away on Missouri Avenue just east of the intersection of Missouri and Grand Boulevard. The square was created to honor New Port Richey’s relationship with its sister city of Cavalaire-sur-Mer in France. The Cultural Affairs Committee, a citizens’ advisory committee, is endeavoring to spruce up the square and want to see people use it more. “Really, we just want to get people out in the community interacting with each other…

Free Movie Series in Sims Park Returns Friday

The fall season kicks off Sept. 21 with Oscar-winning film.

The New Port Richey Cultural Affairs Committee’s free movie series in Sims Park returns Friday, Sept. 21, with Oscar–winning flick "Hugo." The committee is resuming its Spring/Fall Free For All movie series at the band shell in Sims Park in downtown New Port Richey. The series features family friendly movies and other amusements for the kids. “It’s an opportunity for families to get out relax a little bit, enjoy their friends their family and a little bit of culture, and I think it adds to the sense of community in New Port Richey,” Lia Gallegos, vice chair of the committee, has said.
