Sheriff's Office Gets 'Flashy' to Remind People to Buckle Up

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office took the buckle up message on the road during the Battle of the Belts.

The Pasco County Sheriff's Office wants teens to remember to buckle up before they drive. That's why deputies recently visited high school campuses throughout the county during Battle of the Belts week. The annual event is designed to raise awareness about seat belt safety among young drivers and passengers. To add a little "flash" to this year's campaign, the sheriff's office brought along its crime combat vehicle to the campuses. It estimates some 4,000 students and parents were reached during the campaign.
